kai: remembering mia's visit

The visit with Mia went well.

After picking her up, we went to REI for a snack at the World Wrapps. Virginia was a little under the weather and waiting for us at home. On the way out, I pointed out the canoes and said during the summer, we should go to the lake and rent canoes to paddle around in. She asked me "What's rent?". After a little fruitless back and forth conversation with me fumbling for an explanation of the concept (how do you explain this?!) , she finally suggested "let's talk about this later, maybe next time."
