jeni: April 2009 trip to Irvine

Adam and I are out here in Irvine. It's so wonderful to see everyone. We spent a whole afternoon and evening flying (Wednesday April 22nd), and then Hedi's chemo was yesterday (April 23). As Hedi's post indicates, that went more slowly than it should have due to the clogged port...but with various friends stopping by it didn't seem so long. Hedi had a chair in the back room, which was a bit more private than the row of chairs out in front. A volunteer said that's where they put the "rowdy" people. Gosh, we did get a bit noisy with all the chatting and laughter. (The French bakery downstairs makes great sandwiches and salads) Andre and Adam went to the pool (sounds like a really nice facility), stopped by chemo, and went to lunch. It's so great that the chemo is now half over! Yay.
